Set during the First Jacobite Rebellion. Our hero is Scots, loyalist, and Protestant. Our girl is Roman Catholic, Jacobite, and English.
Cutting straight to the chase, she is a scholar, wears reading glasses and is tall. In her mind and her Father's she is plain. She's also 28.
Sent north to seek sanctuary with her Godfather, her Father's plan is altered by the death of said Godfather.
She finds, love, a home, and the awareness of her own desireability.
