Yesterday's Tides - Roseanna M. White (roseannamwhite.com)
History repeats itself, I we don't learn from the mistakes of those who went before us.
Race, religion, love, war, emotional distances in families are all explored. Of course we get a happy ever after in the end. It ties up two generations of love and loss neatly.
My pet peeve and yes, I know it's petty but when Americans write about the British nobility and monarchy, I wish they'd do a fact check. The King was not "his Royal Majesty". At that time he was "your Majesty" or even "your Imperial Majesty". It's like me calling the First Lady, Madame President. It's not a real title (well unless the Americans ever get around to electing a woman).
But a pleasant holiday read. No graphic sex, just a tender love story.
