the sound of light - Bing images
Set in Denmark during World War II, "The Sound of Light" is a tale of faith, redemption, love, and loss. The stories of the Danish Resistance movement is little known outside of Denmark and Danish communities in North America.
Henrik is a nobleman who by anyone's definition was a rake and a bit of a scoundrel. After assisting a friend to flee to neutral Sweden, Henrik reinvents himself as the Havmand or merman. Travelling under the cover of dark, the former Olympic rower transports messages between Resistance groups.
Dr. Else Jensen, an American working in a Physics lab prior to the occupation of Denmark lodges at the same boarding house as Henrik. Henrik is posing as a barely literate, shipyard worker. The unlikely duo find companionship and eventually love while discovering the truth about each other and their faith in God becoming stronger.
It is a tale of redemption, love, and strength. It is well worth reading.
